Peter Bartlett
San Francisco’s longtime head men’s tennis coach Peter Bartlett is now the institution’s director of tennis. Bartlett will oversee both the men’s and women’s programs. He has been the Dons’ head coach since the 1995-96 season. Pablo Pires de Almeida, a former Dons standout, was elevated to associate head men’s tennis coach.

Coaches
Baseball assistants – Central Oklahoma hired Jeff Steele as its associate head baseball coach. Steele spent the last six years as pitching coach at NAIA institution Lubbock Christian.
Football – Southern Mississippi named Ellis Johnson head football coach. Johnson comes from South Carolina, where he was the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the past four seasons.
Football assistants – Illinois added Mike Ward and Alex Golesh to its football coaching staff as assistants. Ward spent the last three years as assistant head coach and co-defensive coordinator at Toledo under new Illini head coach Tim Beckman, while Golesh served as the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator on Beckman’s staff.
Men’s and women’s lacrosse – MIT named Holly Glynn head women’s lacrosse coach. Glynn was most recently an assistant at Mount Ida.
Men’s and women’s soccer – Texas Lutheran chose Larry Schaffer to lead its women’s soccer program as head coach.
Softball assistants – Texas-Dallas tabbed Jenna DeLong as its assistant softball coach. DeLong will also coach the women’s cross country squad.
NCAA Committee Vacancies
The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division III Men’s Soccer Committee. The appointee will replace David Kulik, Clark University (MA), who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be an administrator from the New England region. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is January 13, 2012. Nominations must be submitted online (access code: committee3 – password: 2006).
