Syracuse named Terry Donovan executive senior associate athletics director/chief financial officer. Donovan has spent the past 15 years working in sports, including the past 12 in intercollegiate athletics at Arizona State and Nevada. At Arizona State, his most recent position, Donovan was an assistant athletics director for finance and human resources.

Other transactions

Athletics directors – Gustavus Adolphus appointed Tom Brown as its new director of athletics. Brown has been a part of the athletic department since 1991 as a coach, instructor and administrator.

Coaches

Men’s basketball – Idaho State announced the resignation of head men’s basketball coach Joe O’Brien, who took over the program in 2006. Assistant coach Deane Martin will serve as interim head coach the remainder of the season.

Football – Delta State head football coach Ron Roberts resigned to take over Southeastern Louisiana’s football program.

Football assistants – John Palermo resigned from his role as Middle Tennessee State’s defensive line coach. Palermo was on the Blue Raiders’ staff for the last two seasons.

Deaths

Former Missouri Southern baseball player and coach Mike Hagedorn passed away at 59. Hagedorn, a Missouri Southern Hall of Famer, played for the Lions in 1974 and 1975 and was an assistant coach from 1983-2005.
