NCAA’s Hostetter joins ACC as associate commissioner

Brad Hostetter, NCAA director of academic and membership affairs, has been selected as associate commissioner for compliance and governance for the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Hostetter's responsibilities will include the management and supervision of the conference's compliance, governance and student-athlete programs area. He also will serve as the Commissioner John Swofford’s liaison to the ACC faculty athletics representatives.

Hostetter has served at the NCAA office for 11 years. He oversaw a nine-member Interpretations leadership team and also provided leadership to a number of committees within the NCAA governance structure, including the Division I Football Issues Committee, the Baseball Academic Enhancement Working Group and the Division I Championships/Sport Management Cabinet.

“Brad’s contributions to intercollegiate athletics and national office have been significant,” said Kevin Lennon, NCAA vice president for academic and membership affairs. “From his work helping lead committees and staff to the superb counsel he has provided throughout his tenure, Brad’s efforts have positively impacted all those around him, including student-athletes.”

Hostetter previously was compliance coordinator at Weber State and the compliance assistant at Florida State.

“Brad brings a wealth of experience in his knowledge of compliance and governance, and we are excited to welcome him to the ACC office,” Swofford said.  “Brad will have a positive impact within our office and throughout our member institutions.”
