NCAA assists schools threatened by Hurricane Irene

The NCAA is actively working with member institutions in the path of Hurricane Irene to meet the needs of student-athletes before, during and after the storm.

During natural disasters, the NCAA provides flexibility to institutions and conferences to help them quickly deal with providing necessary assistance and resources. These may include meals, housing or other benefits for student-athletes, relocating teams and rescheduling games.

The Association's top priority in these situations is the health and safety of its student-athletes, and the NCAA national office and its staff stand ready to assist its members as they respond to the hurricane.
