Because of the overwhelming demand and subsequent waitlist to attend the NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA), which is open to NCAA head and assistant women coaches from all sports and all divisions, Dimension 2 professional development training is now open to all women coaches. The Dimension 2 program was previously only open to coaches who graduated from the WCA.
“Our (WCA) waiting list just keeps getting longer so we wanted to reach out and get more women coaches into this network of support,” said Celia Slater, NCAA WCA executive director.
Dimension 2 begins Monday, June 20 at 2 p.m. and runs through Wednesday, June 22 at 3 p.m. at the Doubletree Chicago O'Hare Airport Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois. A registration fee of $250 for WCA grads, $275 for NCAA coaches and staff and $300 for others includes all meals, snacks and participant materials. Travel and lodging are not included in the registration fee. The hotel rate is $125 per night for a single room and $65 per night for a double room, taxes included. Roommate matching assistance is available. There is a free shuttle from the airport.
Online registration begins Wednesday, April 13 at 9 a.m. at http://www.coachesacademy.org/ncaa.php.
Dimension 2 discussion topics include team development, recruiting, fund raising, work-life balance, diversity, hiring and firing, motivation skills for practice, competition and the off-season, strategies and methods, negotiating contracts, mental training, future trends and more.
