Gallaudet defeated Stevenson, 5-3, in the first game of a doubleheader last Thursday to win its first Capital Athletic Conference baseball game since 1997. Though the game was played on April 1, Bison fans could rest assured that the score they saw was no April Fool's hoax. "I am really proud of my guys. This is a great win for our program," said Gallaudet coach Curtis Pride, who is in his second season at the helm. "This win shows our players that they can compete with anybody in the conference. This is a great confidence builder for us." The last time Gallaudet won a CAC game was on March 30, 1997, when the Bison beat St. Mary's (Maryland), 4-1. Between the start of the 1998 season and the win over Stevenson, Gallaudet had been 0-150 in CAC regular-season games. The Bison almost won the second game against Stevenson, too, but lost, 3-2.
