The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has selected Atlanta as the host city for its 2010 SIAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament. The event will be played March 1-6 at Frank L. Forbes Arena on the campus of Morehouse College at the Atlanta University Center. 

"One of the overarching priorities of the conference office involves working every day to maximize the championship experiences of our student-athletes and fans," SIAC Commissioner Gregory Moore said. "Moving the tournament back to Atlanta, one of the greatest destination cities in the country, will be a positive step forward in that regard." 

Moore also said the league is moving the championship finals from Sunday afternoon to Saturday evening. The week-long event also features other entertainment, social and community-engagement activities throughout Atlanta.

The 2010 tournament will mark the 77th year for the postseason classic, which league officials say makes it the oldest historically black college and university basketball tournament in America.
