Terri Steeb, NCAA director of Division II, has been selected as one of 100 finalists for the "Indy's Best and Brightest" award.

Butler men's basketball coach Brad Stevens also was among the finalists, all of whom will be recognized during an awards dinner October 6 in Indianapolis. The program is presented by Junior Achievement.

Steeb has been with the NCAA national office for 10 years and has served as director of Division II since October 2004. She also manages the Division II budget; monitors Division I and III governance issues; and oversees the implementation of various Division II strategic initiatives, including the National Championships Festivals, branding and messaging strategies, and the division's strategic plan.

Steeb previously worked with the NCAA academic and membership affairs staff and served as associate director and Division II governance liaison. She also staffed the Division II Academic Requirements Committee, Division II Legislation Committee and the Division I Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet Subcommittee on Continuing Eligibility.

She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she was a four-year varsity letter winner in volleyball. She received her master's in sports administration and facility management from Ohio University.
