The Division II Conference Commissioners Association has selected Point Forward to lead the development of the CCA's corporate partnership program.
Point Forward, a marketing and advertising firm based in Charleston, West Virginia, will work with CCA assets such as the Disney Tip-Off Classic basketball tournaments in Orlando and Anaheim, the CCA Award of Merit and the Disney scholar-athlete awards programs and seek corporate alliances that benefit the 22 Division II conferences.
Jim Naumovich, commissioner of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and current president of the CCA, said the commissioners chose Point Forward in part based on the firm's success in working with the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. WVIAC Commissioner Barry Blizzard said the agency has helped increase revenue from sponsorships in his league by more than $100,000 in just two years.
"While there are a number of sponsorship agencies active in collegiate athletics, Point Forward is the only one that demonstrated a proven track record at the DII level and an understanding of our position in the marketplace," Naumovich said.
Jack Cipoletti, Point Forward managing partner, said, "Our work with the CCA will focus on maximizing the opportunities for brands to engage with their membership."
In addition to the WVIAC, current and former Point Forward clients include Minor League Baseball, the Homeless World Cup, the Nationwide Tour's National Mining Association Pete Dye Classic, FestivALL Charleston and the CreateWV Conference.
