    Vanderbilt to host 2012 women's golf finals

    Vanderbilt has been selected to host the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships.

    The Division I Women's Golf Committee announced Monday that the tournament would be played at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee, on May 22-25.

    "Our committee is thrilled to take our championships to Franklin and the Vanderbilt Legends Club," said Nancy Cross, committee chair and senior associate athletics director at Purdue. "We are confident the rich tradition of hosting major college and LPGA events and the enthusiasm of the Legends and Vanderbilt athletics staff members who will serve as the hosts, will make this an incredible championship experience for our student-athletes."

    This year's women's golf championships will be May 18-21 at the Country Club of Landfall, in Wilmington, North Carolina. The 2011 championships are May 17-20 at the Traditions Golf Club in College Station, Texas.
