Outback Bowl officials have announced that a Southeastern Conference team will appear in the bowl through the 2014 game.

Bowl officials previously announced contract extensions with the Big Ten Conference and title sponsor Outback Steakhouse.

The new agreements call for a 1 p.m. New Year's Day kickoff at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa for the matchup of the third pick of teams from both conferences.

The Outback Bowl has hosted teams from the SEC and Big Ten for the past 15 years. The SEC holds a 10-7 advantage in the series, though the two conferences are evenly split in the past eight years. The game will mark its 25th anniversary in January.

"The Southeastern Conference is pleased to continue its relationship with the Outback Bowl," said Commissioner Mike Slive. "(The bowl game) gives our institutions an opportunity to play in an outstanding stadium and enjoy a world-class tourist destination."
