David Brandon has been named Michigan's new director of the athletics. Brandon, who played football under Bo Schembechler and has served as a regent, currently is chair and chief executive officer of Ann Arbor-based Domino's Pizza, Inc. Brandon replaces Bill Martin, who will retire in September 2010. Brandon became chair and CEO of Domino's in March 1999. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in education and teaching certificate from Michigan in 1974 and was a member of three Big Ten championship football teams under Schembechler.
Other transactions
Associate athletics directors – Manhattan Associate AD and Senior Woman Administrator Sandra Taylor is leaving the college for an academic advisement position at NJIT. Taylor has been at Manhattan since 1993. She has served on several NCAA committees, including the Division I Management Council, Division I Strategic Planning Cabinet and Initial-Eligibility Waiver Committee. She also chaired the Women's Lacrosse Committee in 2005-06.
Assistant athletics directors – Christina Cribbs has been named the new assistant AD of budget, facilities and events at San Francisco. Cribbs has served in a similar capacity at Stanford since 2007.
