Connecticut's Maya Moore and Penn State's Megan Hodge were named co-winners of the 2009-10 Honda-Broderick Cup, the second time in the award's history two women received the honor. The award recognizes the collegiate woman athlete of the year.

The Honda-Broderick Cup winners are selected for superior athletics skills, leadership abilities, academic excellence and eagerness to participate in community service. The winners are chosen by votes cast from more than 1,000 NCAA member schools and the board of directors of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards Program.

Moore, who will be a senior at Connecticut, helped the Huskies to 78 consecutive wins over two seasons, including two consecutive Division I women's basketball titles. She has scored 2,168 career points, the first junior in the program's history to score more than 2,000 points. Moore also performs in the classroom, earning the Big East Conference women's basketball scholar athlete of the year award.

Hodge, the 2009 Division I national player of the year for volleyball, helped guide the Nittany Lions to a third consecutive national title in 2009 while on a 102-match winning streak. Hodge was the ESPN the Magazine Academic all-American of the Year for volleyball in 2009, and she graduated with a degree in business in 2010. She is the first Honda-Broderick Cup winner from Penn State.

The last Honda-Broderick Cup tie occurred in 1984, when the award went to both Florida swimmer Tracy Caulkins and Southern California basketball student-athlete Cheryl Miller.
