Ever since Fordham shortstop Brian Kownacki took to the air over Iona catcher James Beck, scoring a run on his hands, the attention hasn't stopped.

Wednesday, Kownacki received the Harlem GlobeTrotters "Trotter Tribute" for the leap. Thursday, the YouTube clip appeared on the Today show. He's appeared in major national publications and all over the Internet. He's been on the local news and ESPN. Bloggers can't get enough of his acrobatic score.

Kownacki made the leap to score the third run off Chris Walker's base hit in the bottom of the eighth inning, and the Rams went on to win the game, 12-9.

Kownacki told MLB.com that as he was running toward home plate, he knew that he probably couldn't touch the plate if he tried to slide around Beck, and his size prohibited him from knocking the catcher over.

"I guess I could do it again," he told MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez. "But it would have to be the exact same situation."
