After 13 years in Chattanooga, the Division I Football Championship Subdivision title game will move to Frisco, Texas, for a three-year run.

Frisco emerged from a pool of several cities that submitted bids to serve as the host site for the championship game for the next three years, beginning with the 2010 season. The Southland Conference will host the championship at Pizza Hut Park on January 7, 2011.

The championship game will be the culmination of a newly expanded 20-team bracket. As a result, the game will be played a few weeks later than in the past.

The decision to award the championship to Frisco was recommended by the Division I Football Championship Committee and approved by the Administrative Committee of the Division I Championships/Sports Management Cabinet.

"This is a great day for the city of Frisco, Texas," said Tom Burnett, commissioner of the Southland Conference. "The strong community, football fan base, and dedication to putting on an event that will excite the participants in the championship game is something we are confident we can do. We are thrilled the NCAA feels the same by awarding us with this championship."
