The Division I Board of Directors recently named Patricia Ohlendorf, vice president of institutional relations and legal at the University of Texas at Austin to the Division I Infractions Appeals Committee.
Ohlendorf began her career at Texas as a part-time human resources administrator while a student at the university from 1971-77. Her first full-time position was as in-house legal counsel in the academic affairs/provost's office. She became a member of the president's executive officer group in 1987, then split time between the provost's office and the president's office through 1997.
She served as chief of staff for the president during 1997-98, then was named to her current job in 1998. In her role as vice president of institutional relations and legal, she is responsible for governmental relations, intercollegiate athletics for men and women, trademark licensing, legal affairs, institutional compliance and the Erwin Special Events Center.
Ohlendorf holds both a bachelor's degree and a legal degree from Texas. She replaces Noel Ragsdale of the University of Southern California, who resigned from the committee.
