    Coke is it for SWAC

    The Southwestern Athletic Conference recently signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with the Coca-Cola Company.

    Coke will provide beverages for all 18 SWAC championships beginning with the 2010 indoor track and field championships February 27-28.

    Coca-Cola has sponsored SWAC events in the past. The company also is one of the NCAA's corporate champions.

    "Coca-Cola has been a long-time supporter of the Southwestern Athletic Conference," said Walker Jones, community relations director for Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Birmingham. "We are excited to be renewing our sponsorship of SWAC for a multiyear contract. Coke has always believed in being a part of our communities and is excited about partnering with the historically black colleges and universities that make up the Southwestern Athletic Conference."
