Augusta State won its first Division I Men's Golf Championship team title after Oklahoma State's Kevin Tway missed a 3-foot putt on a playoff hole to hand Mitch Krywulycz the match and the Jaguars a 3-1-1 victory. [More]

Tway held a 4-up lead after 11 holes but bogeyed the 12th. Krywulycz answered with birdies on the next three to make the match all square at the 15th hole. The pair matched par for par for the rest of the match, sending it to the 19th hole, where Krywulycz made par and Tway bogeyed.

The Jaguars' Henrik Norlander and Patrick Reed held a commanding lead through their matches. Norlander beat Morgan Hoffmann, 5 and 5, and Reed grabbed a 4-and-2 victory over Peter Uihlein. Sean Einhaus won the Cowboys' only match, 2 and 1 over Carter Newman.

This was the second year of a new format for the championships in which all 30 teams and six individuals completed 54 holes of stroke play. After 54 holes, an individual champion is declared and the top eight teams are bracketed in a three-round, match-play tournament (quarterfinals, semifinals and the final match).

Illinois' Scott Langley won medalist honors with a final-round 4-under 68 and a 206 total, bettering San Diego's Alex Ching (208), Oklahoma State's Peter Uihlein (208), Oregon State's Diego Velasquez (209) and Augusta State's Henrik Norlander (210).
