The NCAA Committee on Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct is accepting nominations for the 2010 NCAA Student-Athlete Sportsmanship Award.

This is the first time since the award was established in 1999 that the nomination process will be electronic. Each school may nominate its student-athletes for the annual honor by forwarding a nomination form and completed signature page for each nominee to their conference office by April 15.

Independent institutions may send nominations to Angela Williams at the NCAA national office by the same deadline.

Conferences will review nominations, select a male and a female winner and forward those candidates to the NCAA by April 30. The NCAA Sportsmanship Committee will choose one male and one female honoree from each division from the conference and independent institutions' nominees. From the pool of six divisional recipients, the committee will name one male and one female student-athlete as national winners.

The 2010 Student-Athlete Sportsmanship Award recipients will be announced in July and committee representatives will begin visiting each winner's campus for award presentations in September.

For questions or more information about the award contact Angela Williams or visit the Sportsmanship Committee Web page at www.ncaa.org/sportsmanship.
