The NCAA is accepting nominations for the 2011 Theodore Roosevelt, Silver Anniversary, Winter/Spring Today's Top VIII, Award of Valor and Inspiration Awards.
The awards recognize current and former student-athletes who have brought distinction to themselves, their institutions and intercollegiate athletics. The awards will be presented at the Honors Celebration, held in conjunction with the 2011 NCAA Convention.
Award criteria and nomination forms are available here, as well as information about past honorees. Institutions may nominate their own alumni and student-athletes or alumni from other institutions.
Student-athletes must have a 3.000 undergraduate grade-point average to be eligible for the Today's Top VIII award and complete their eligibility in the 2009-10 academic year. Nominations for winter- and spring-sport student-athletes are being accepted at this time. The 2009 fall sports were included in the 2010 Honors selections, and solicitation for 2010 fall sports will take place this coming fall.
To be eligible for the Silver Anniversary Award, individuals must have completed their athletics eligibility in the 1985-86 academic year.
Theodore Roosevelt Award nominations remain active for three years, so it is not necessary to re-nominate individuals who were submitted in 2008 and 2009.
