On July 13, the NCAA will launch a redesigned NCAA.org website, focused on improved navigation, search and visual appeal. The Association has also created a members-only section, designed to meet the business needs of its membership and partners.

NCAA.org will feature key issues of the Association, such as student-athlete well-being, eligibility, amateurism and academics. The membership-only area will facilitate communication between member institutions and create an environment where the membership can share best business practices and relevant information.

The changes are part of a strategic initiative to better meet the communication needs of the NCAA's various audiences. While anyone can access the public site at www.ncaa.org, those with valid university, conference or partner e-mail addresses will need to create a profile at http://www.ncaa.org/wps/portal/registration to access in-depth, member-focused content.

"We believe this new, strategic approach allows us to meet the changing demands and capabilities of online communication, while also better meeting the unique needs of our membership," said Ronnie Ramos, NCAA managing director of new media. "This model is one many universities follow on their own websites, so it should be a natural transition for our membership."

Content found on the current site will be moved behind a log-in beginning July 13.

"The membership can log-in to the membership site now. We strongly encourage individuals to create a profile and remind members of their staff to do so, as well," Ramos said. "We want to make sure everyone is prepared for this transition, so we need help to spread the word."
