Mike Alden, athletics director at Missouri, will chair the Division I Leadership Council. He has been the Tigers athletics director since 1998.

He follows Damon Evans as chair of the Council. Evans resigned as athletics director at Georgia in July.
Alden is the current president of the Division IA Athletics Directors Association.
He graduated from Evansville, where he played football and earned degrees in marketing and education. He began his career as offensive line coach at his alma mater, then moved to a similar position at Penn. He began his athletics administration career as special assistant to the athletics director at Arizona State, where he earned a graduate degree. His first athletics director position was at Southwest Texas (now Texas State).
Alden has served on numerous NCAA committees, including the former Management Council, the former Championships/Competition Cabinet and the Oversight and Monitoring Group.
