The U.S. National Women’s Rowing Team selected on Monday that will compete at the world championships includes former Ithaca rower Meghan Musnicki, who was named to the squad of the eight boat.
Musnicki, an All-American at Ithaca in 2005 who helped lead the Bombers to back-to-back Division III titles at the 2004 and 2005 NCAA championships, is surrounded by colleagues from Division I schools.
USRowing announced the 2010 World Rowing Championships roster Oct. 4. Twenty-four crews will represent the United States at the championships Oct. 31-Nov. 7 in Lake Karapiro, New Zealand.
The roster is dominated by former NCAA student-athletes, including the entire women’s eight, which is made up of the following former collegiate rowers:
Musnicki rowed in Ithaca’s varsity eight boat for two years. She helped that boat win the gold medal at the grand final at the 2004 NCAA championship. As a sophomore, she rowed with the second varsity eight boat that won state and ECAC titles.
