DII Game of the Week package begins Saturday

A pair of high-profile women’s games will lead off the Division II basketball Game of the Week package on the CBS College Sports Network.

The opening televised contest Saturday will feature a Sunshine State Conference rivalry when Tampa visits Lynn. Tampa, which stood 9-2 through Monday, is led by Gianna Messina, who has already been named conference player of the week twice this season. The game will begin at noon ET.

The Jan. 15 game will match a pair of nationally ranked women’s teams. South Carolina Aiken, currently 11-2 and ranked No. 25, will host Clayton State, which is ranked No. 6 after having won its first 12 games behind the standout play of guard/forwards Teshimia Tillman and Tanisha Woodard.

Games from different conferences will follow for the next seven weekends, including a men’s/women’s doubleheader Saturday, Jan. 29. The first men’s game will feature Nyack at Dominican on Jan. 22.

All of the games will be played on Saturdays except for a Sunday, Feb. 20, Great Lakes Valley Conference contest featuring Rockhurst’s men at Drury.

CBS College Sports also will carry the March 24 semifinals of the Division II Men’s Basketball Championship from Springfield, Mass.
