University of Evansville soccer player mistakenly identified after accident

University of Evansville soccer student-athlete Abby Guerra was involved in a serious car accident in Arizona last week and was misidentified as having died in the crash. Family members of the student-athlete and of the woman who was thought to be Guerra were told on Saturday, though, that Guerra was in the hospital in critical condition and not deceased. Evansville Athletics Director John Stanley said on the Evansville website that teammates and friends who had traveled to Arizona for an apparent funeral were now holding vigil at the hospital for Guerra’s recovery.
