The NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Committee has selected the metropolitan area of Birmingham-Hoover, Alabama, as the site for the 2011 Men’s College Cup. UAB and the Alabama Sports Foundation will co-host the event.
The College Cup will be played at Regions Park on December 9 and 11. It will be the first time the College Cup will be played in the state of Alabama.
“UAB, together with the cities of Birmingham and Hoover, put together a great championship bid,” said John Diffley, chair of the Division I Men's Soccer Committee and senior associate athletics director for administration at St. John’s (New York). “We are excited to bring the event to a different part of the country, and we feel that Regions Park will present an outstanding experience for the student-athletes and the fans.”
The 2010 NCAA Men’s College Cup will be held in Santa Barbara, California at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium. The national semifinals and finals will take place December 10 and 12 on the UC Santa Barbara campus.
