North Carolina-Greensboro promoted Kimberly S. Record to athletics director. Record has held associate athletics director positions at Florida State and Virginia and was most recently a consultant with ISP sports. She begins her duties October 1.

Presidents and chancellors – Carleton President Robert A. Oden, Jr. announced his retirement effective June 2010. Oden was president at Kenyon from 1995 until moving to Carleton in 2002.

 Coaches

Men’s basketball – Rick Duckett will not return to Grambling State. He coached the Tigers for one year and was 6-23.

Deaths

Joe Garcia, former Albany athletics director, died September 18. He was 87. Garcia also coached baseball, junior varsity basketball, wrestling and men’s soccer and was an associate professor of physical education at Albany. He founded the school’s wrestling program nearly 50 years ago. He was a 1949 graduate of Illinois, and served as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State.
