Mike Bellotti stepped down as football coach at Oregon to accept duties as the school’s athletics director, effective July 1. Until then, Bellotti will serve as senior counselor to departing AD Pat Kilkenny, while Bellotti’s offensive coordinator, Chip Kelly, takes over as head coach March 30. Bellotti led the Ducks to 12 bowl games during his 14-year coaching tenure, and four seasons of 10 or more wins. Kelly joined the staff in 20007 after seven seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at New Hampshire.

Baseball assistant – Former Chicago White Sox infielder Doug Brady named assistant head coach at MacMurray

Men’s basketballDickey Nutt was named men’s basketball coach at Southeast Missouri State, returning to service as a head coach after ending a 13-year stint last year at Arkansas State. Nutt compiled a 189-186 record at Arkansas State, where he led his 1998-99 team to the school’s first Division I Men’s Basketball Championship appearance.

Women’s basketballMyndi Hill resigned as head coach at Manhattan, after six years with the program.

Football – Two-time NFL Pro Bowl selection and former Alabama all-American E.J. Junior selected as head coach at Central State (Ohio), after serving as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Southwest Baptist. Junior played for 13 years in the NFL, then coached for several professional teams and served a stint as director of player programs for the Miami Dolphins.

Football assistantsRod Payne named defensive line coach at Florida Atlantic after serving as head coach at Felix Valera High School in Florida. The former Michigan standout was a member of the Baltimore Ravens’ 20001 Super Bowl champions … Brian Jenkins hired as wide receivers coach at Rutgers after serving for seven years as special teams coordinator and running backs coach at Louisiana-Lafayette.

Men’s and women’s tennisMichael Lewis resigned as head tennis coach at Caldwell, where he also assisted with men’s basketball.

Women’s volleyball assistant – Former U.S. National Team member and Louisville all-American Jennifer Hoffman joined the staff at Fordham.

Deaths

Tim Heimann, head men’s basketball coach at Knox for 24 years until his retirement last year, died March 13. Heimann, who also taught and served as an athletics administrator at the school, has worked in the Knox advancement office since stepping down from coaching.
