Virginia named Mike London to replace Al Groh as head football coach. London coached Richmond to a 24-5 record in the past five years. In his first year leading the Spiders, the team won the Football Championship Subdivision title. London was an assistant to Groh for six years, and also spent time as the defensive line coach for the Houston Texans. He played football at Richmond and for the Dallas Cowboys and worked as police officer in Richmond for nearly five years.

Coaches

Football – Nicholls State named Kent Keith interim head coach. A search committee will look for a permanent replacement for Jay Thomas, who was released November 20.

Football assistants – Arizona released offensive coordinator Rich Olson.

Staff

Development –Arkansas named John Erck director of development for its athletics program. Erck will be responsible for securing private gift support for all 19 Razorback sports. He has spent more than three years as associate director of the National Commodore Club at Vanderbilt.

Conferences

The Ivy League tabbed Celene McGowan as associate director for championships and sport administration. She begins work in the conference office January 4.
