The RecordDon Brandon plans to retire as baseball coach at Anderson (Indiana) at the end of the 2010 season, his 50th year at the school, including time as a player and assistant coach. Brandon, who succeeded former Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Carl Erskine as Anderson’s head coach in 1972, enters his final year with 1,074 career victories, second-best among active Division III baseball coaches. Three of his teams advanced to the final round of the Division III Baseball Championship.
Coaches
Men’s basketball – Travis Ford signed a new contract through 2019 at Oklahoma State, where he led the Cowboys to a Division I Men’s Basketball Championship berth during his first season.
Men’s basketball assistants -- Nelson Albino appointed director of men’s basketball operations at New Jersey Institute after playing at Drew.
Women’s basketball assistant – James Stellato hired at Stephen F. Austin.
Men’s and women’s cross country – Jordan Zwick named volunteer assistant coach at Florida Atlantic.
Men’s lacrosse – Kevin Zulauf promoted from assistant coach at Richard Stockton, where he has been on the staff for two years and also played.
Men’s and women’s track and field – Keven Syverson named interim men’s and women’s coach at Wisconsin-River Falls, stepping in for Martha Brennan, who is on a leave of absence.
Staff
Sports information – Anna Cooper named sports information intern for 2009-10 at Delaware after serving for two years as assistant director of athletics communications at Susquehanna.
