Michael Rao has been named president of Virginia Commonwealth. Rao is currently president of Central Michigan. He previously served in that role at Montana State University-Northern and Mission College.

Coaches

Men’s basketball – Macalester head coach Curt Kietzer has announced his resignation after 12 seasons as head coach. Kietzer’s teams advanced to the conference playoffs three times from 2001-02 through 2004-05.

Men’s and women’s cross country – Bill Hodge resigned as head cross country and track and field coach. Assistant coach Charone White was named interim head coach.

Men’s and women’s tennis – Edgewood announced that Stu Schaefer will be the interim women’s tennis coach. … Tom Cath resigned as the DePauw men’s tennis coach to take a position as the director of Valparaiso University’s Career Center.
