Wisconsin-Whitewater wins football title over familiar foeAfter a five-hour delay so remnants of 16 inches of snow could be removed from the field, Wisconsin-Whitewater downed top-seeded Mount Union, 38-28, in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, Virginia, Saturday evening.
It marked the fifth year in a row that the Warhawks and Purple Raiders have met in the NCAA Division III Football Championship game. Wisconsin-Whitewater also won the title in 2007, while Mount Union was victorious in 2005, 2006 and 2008 in what has become an annual matchup. [More]
