Oberlin president nominated for NEH postOberlin President Marvin Krislov is President Barack Obama’s nominee to join the National Council on the Humanities.
The 26-member council reviews applications for more than $21 million in grants awarded annually by the National Endowment for the Humanities and advises the endowment’s chair.
“I am honored to be considered for this post with the National Council of Humanities,” said Krislov, who became Oberlin’s president in 2007 after serving for nine years as vice president and general counsel at Michigan. “The work of the NEH is vitally important to current and future generations of Americans.”
As Oberlin’s president, Krislov also serves as a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference Presidents Council.
