Montclair State’s softball squad gave coach Anita Kubicka her 600th coaching victory late last week in a doubleheader against Hunter.

Kubicka, who ranks 10th all-time in victories among Division III softball coaches, collected the win in her 19th season at the school.

She has led the Red Hawks to 10 Division III Softball Championship appearances, including two trips to the eight-team tournament final. Montclair State finished second at the 1997 championship.

The milestone win is a prelude to later this season when Montclair State will host the Division III Softball Championship final for the first time. It will be the first time in 20 years that the tournament has been played in the East. The finals will be played May 15-19.
