The following is a summary of Division III news from the week of July 6-10.

• A recent online survey exploring aspects of Division III athletics – a key step leading to creation of a “strategic communication platform” for the division later this year – attracted more than 3,000 responses.
• DePauw will host the Division III Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships for the second time next winter.
• Five national champions are among the Division III men’s and women’s scholar-athletes of the year selected by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
• Butch Newman, the longtime tennis coach at Trinity (Texas) who oversaw the transition of that school’s competitive Division I program into a championship program in Division III, is relinquishing coaching duties to assume an administrative role as director of tennis.
