Former Florida Southern Athletics Director Lois Webb, who retired in 2008, has been named interim commissioner of the Sunshine State Conference.

Webb will oversee the operation of the SSC office until a new full-time commissioner is hired.  A search is underway to replace Mike Marcil, who left to become vice president of development at Creighton Prep High School in Omaha, Nebraska. 

 Webb served as Florida Southern’s athletics director for seven years (2001-08) before retiring at the end of the 2007-08 school year. NACWAA named her the Division II administrator of the year in 2007. Before becoming athletics director, Webb had a distinguished 24-year coaching career in volleyball, leading Florida Southern to 747 victories. She also coached women’s basketball and women’s golf at Florida Southern.
