Lynn  men's soccer coach John Rootes collected his 300th career victory August 30 when his Fighting Knights defeated Delta State, 8-1. 

Kyle Conrad and Paulo Vaz scored three goals apiece in the win and Vaz added a pair of assists. The ninth-ranked Fighting Knights improved to 2-0 on the year.

“You know, I didn’t even know I was close to 300 wins,” Rootes said afterward.  “I don’t keep track of records like that, but I’m very happy to get there because it means I’ve been a part of teams that have had success.”
