Following is a summary of Division II news from the week of October 26-30.
- Newly elected Division II Presidents Council chair Drew Bogner of Molloy College also has been named as part of a search committee to oversee the process of selecting a successor to the late NCAA President Myles Brand.
- The Division II Presidents Council reaffirmed their support for the Life in the Balance package headed for Convention and took positions on the three proposals submitted from the membership this year. The presidents also discussed how the economy is affecting Division II institutions.
- Division II held its fifth annual Faculty Athletics Representatives Fellows Institute, at which programming focused on FARs taking more of a leadership role in athletics matters.
- The Northeast-10 Conference produced a video promoting an act of sportsmanship from two Southern New Hampshire cross country runners. Michael Smith and Tyler Parks sacrificed their ability to complete a race to help a fallen opponent who had collapsed from dehydration.
