Following is a summary of Division II news from the week of June 1-5.

• Fifteen institutions, including Canadian school Simon Fraser, have applied for Division II membership. Six of the applicants are located in Ohio.
• The Presidents Council considered, but ultimately declined to support, a concept from the California Collegiate Athletic Association that proposed changing the way the Council is configured.
• Lynn won the Division II Baseball Championship behind the pitching of Dan Wright and Tommy Kahnle. Western Washington also won a fifth straight rowing title.
• Soccer student-athletes James Hilaire of New Haven and Robbie Sabadoz of Merrimack have been honored by the Northeast-10 Conference for their acts of sportsmanship after a freak accident nearly took Hilaire’s life. (Also see the story in Champion magazine.)
