DII teams to play in KC's Sprint CenterCentral Missouri and Rockhurst will play a game co-hosted by the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and the National Association of Basketball Coaches as part of the 2009 O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
The game between the two Division II schools will be played Tuesday, November 24, the second day of the two-day Division I event. Tip-off is at 2:30 p.m. Central time.
Admission for the Division II game will be free. Tickets will be on sale for those wishing to return and watch the consolation and championship rounds of the Division I tournament that evening.
Central Missouri went 30-5 in 2008-09, including 17-0 at home. The Mules finished second in the MIAA with a 16-4 conference record and won the MIAA postseason tournament. The Mules went on to advance to the NCAA Division II semifinals, where they lost to Findlay, 67-65.
Rockhurst, a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, advanced to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional and finished with a 19-11 record in 2008-09. The Hawks finished second in the GLVC West Division with a 13-4 mark.
