Texas A&M, Boise State to host future indoor track finalsThe NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee announced Monday that Texas A&M and Boise State have been selected to host the 2011 and 2012 Division I Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Texas A&M will host the 2011 championships at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium at McFerrin Athletic Center. Texas A&M also hosted the event in 2009. Boise State, hosting for the first time, will hold the 2012 championships at the Jackson Track at the Idaho Center.
“The committee was fortunate to receive several attractive bids,” said Holly Sheilley, committee chair and assistant athletics director for student development and championships at Louisville. “We are confident that Texas A&M will build upon the great job they did hosting in 2009 and make it an even better championship in 2011. We also are excited to take the championship somewhere new with Boise State as a host in 2012.
“Both have good reputations as premier track venues and the ability to draw good crowds, which makes them not only ideal selections to host the championships but also to continue to foster the sport’s growth.”
Arkansas will host the 2010 championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville.
