The South Dakota men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will join the Summit League as an associate member. The school’s swimming teams will begin competition in the conference in 2009-10 and will be eligible for the league’s 2010 championship.

South Dakota’s swimming and diving student-athletes also will be eligible for weekly Summit League awards and academic honors throughout the season. The Coyotes competed independently in 2008-09 after moving to Division I from Division II.
