Nicholls State plans soccer facilityNicholls State began construction on a new men’s and women’s soccer facility last week, with the goal of having the complex ready for the 2009 season.
The building will include locker rooms, a team area, offices and concessions. The complex provides additional locker rooms for the women’s soccer team, which currently has been operating without them. Pipeline Construction & Maintenance, Inc., owned by Mike Fesi, agreed to build the facility and donate it to Nicholls State.
“We owe a great deal of gratitude to Mr. Fesi for his generosity, without him this facility would not have been possible. This is the first time in our department’s history that a private donor has provided this level of support. I know how excited our soccer athletes are to have such a fine new facility,” said Rob Bernardi, Nicholls State athletics director.
