Nevada football coach Chris Ault won his 200th game October 9 when his Wolf Pack beat Louisiana Tech, 37-14.

Ault, who has coached 25 seasons at Nevada, is now 200-94-1 and one of six active Football Bowl Subdivision coaches to reach 200 wins. The others are Penn State’s Joe Paterno (387), Florida State’s Bobby Bowden (384), Virginia Tech’s Frank Beamer (223), Ohio State’s Jim Tressel (222) and Texas’ Mack Brown (205).

Ault also played football at Nevada, starring at quarterback in the 1960s. He returned to his alma mater in 1976 to guide the Wolf Pack from Division II to Division I and the FBS. In the school’s first year in the FBS, it won both a Big West title and a bowl berth. Ault was pleased to be able to accomplish all 200 wins at one school – Nevada.

“The special thing to me is that it was to me is that it was all at this university,” he said. “(The record) represents every player that has ever put on the silver and blue.”
