Cavaliers win College Cup via shootoutVirginia survived a penalty-kick shootout with Akron to win the Division I Men’s Soccer Championship on December 13 in Cary, North Carolina.
After 110 minutes of scoreless soccer, Akron’s Blair Gavin, whose penalty kick in the semifinal had put Akron in the championship match, sailed his shot over the crossbar to give the Cavaliers their sixth soccer title and first since 1994. [More]
