Boston U. men’s ice hockey coach Jack Parker won his 800th game last week, a 3-1 road victory over Merrimack. All of his victories have come with the Terriers.

He won his 801st game on Monday over Harvard, a close contest that ended in a 4-3 Terrier victory. He is just the third Division I men’s ice hockey coach to reach 800 wins, and the first to do it at the same school. Only Boston College coach Jerry York and former Michigan State coach Ron Mason have more wins.

“I'm old,” Parker said. “I’ve been here a long time – that's the reason you get 800 wins. I’ve also had over these 36 seasons some fabulous assistant coaches who have recruited some great players.”

Parker has led the team to a 19-5-1 record this season. He graduated from the school in 1968 and was named head coach of the ice hockey team in 1973.
