The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association honored Connecticut’s Geno Auriemma as the Division I Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. He also won the award in 2002. He is the only Division I coach to win the award in consecutive years.

Auriemma’s top-ranked Huskies are the only undefeated team in Division I. Connecticut won his 17th Big East regular-season title and 15th conference tournament championship.
