TCU will host the 2010 NCAA National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Rifle Championships and Towson will host the 2010 Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship.

This is the second straight year that TCU’s Daniel-Meyer Coliseum will host the rifle championships, which will be conducted March 12-13.

Paul Klimitas, chair of the Men’s and Women’s Rifle Committee and an associate athletics director at Philadelphia Sciences, said the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is a fan-friendly facility and a special place for student-athletes to compete.

“The committee couldn’t be more excited to return the rifle championships to TCU,” he said. “TCU tried and succeeded in taking this championship to another level last year, and we know it will only be better in 2010.”

The 2010 Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship will be May 28 and 30 at Johnny Unitas Stadium. It also will mark the first time the NCAA Divisions I, II and III Men’s Lacrosse Championships and the Division I women’s championship will be played in the same vicinity. Baltimore will host the 2010 and 2011 men’s championships.

“This event has set attendance records the last four years, and we feel strongly that our growth will continue at Towson in 2010,” said Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee Chair Ryan Bamford, an assistant athletics director at Yale. “The Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee is thrilled to award the 2010 championship to Towson University.”

Towson also hosted the 2008 and 2009 championships.
