'Pack the House' challenge enters third yearMarketing staffs in Division I can once again compete in the NCAA women’s basketball “Pack the House” challenge that will take place during the 2009-10 basketball season.
This is the third year that institutions and conferences can compete for attendance marks at a designated game. Each institution must submit an intent-to-participate form by November 2 to be eligible to compete.
Last year, 184 schools participated, drawing more than 559,000 fans to Division I women’s basketball games.
Seventy-two schools broke single home-game attendance marks from the previous season. Auburn, Bradley, Central Michigan, Gonzaga, Marist, Memphis, Niagara, Notre Dame and Providence all recorded sellouts for their “Pack the House” games last year. Marist is the only school to sell out its Pack the House game date for two consecutive years.
