Coaches should learn to recognize signs of traumatic brain injuries

A California lawmaker has introduced legislation requiring high school coaches be trained to recognize and manage the signs of traumatic brain injuries (TBI). The legislation comes on the heels of a New York Times article, detailing the recent injury of a high school baseball player and the death of actress Natasha Richardson.

When Louisville Men's Basketball Coach Rick Pitino recently spoke to the schools athletics director, he wasn't lamenting their loss to Michigan State. "Can you believe they're going to the Final Four?" Pitino said to Kenny Klein in reference to the school's women's team. "That's awesome."
